The practice was commissioned to design the public realm for this major residential and commercial development within the centre of Bradford. Located on a steep slope in the former linen quarter the site presents interesting challenges.

The design echoes an abstracted watercourse tumbling down the hill to the beck but being cut by lines and shapes en route, reflecting earlier use of water power in the area.  Polished black granite marks the main pedestrian route through the site, creating dynamic lines and shards of reflected light.  Calmer, green courtyards lie on the flanks.
The strong, angled forms used throughout the design reflect the geometry of surrounding buildings, drawing the eye around external spaces.
