The masterplan strategy for external spaces was developed from the principle of campus buildings being arranged around a central quadrangle, with a clear point of access and space for events and relaxation. 

A central raised dias gives focus to the space, organises circulation and forms the basis of an innovative sustainable drainage system.  Practically the dais also balance earthworks cut and fill on the site, avoiding export or import of materials.  Tree species are carefully selected for habit, form and seasonal effect, creating strong patterns across the site, guiding views and enhancing the character of the varied spaces.
