Estell Warren was invited to prepare ideas for the provision of a temporary / contemporary car park in the emerging Holbeck Urban Village.  The brief was to develop ideas that would allow an area of former industrial units to be converted into a secure car parking area, quickly and within a limited budget.

We took our inspiration from the existing plates of concrete and tiled floors, brick edgings, walls and areas of regenerating vegetation.  Lifted surfaces become edges and seating, birch and Buddleia copses define spaces and routes, aggregates are recycled as mulch and wildlife refuge.
